BALTIMORE, MD – City officials on Wednesday terminated the contract of the firm that vetted Baltimore police recruits with mental health screening. The termination follows an inspector general’s report Monday. The inspector general found that the firm, Psychology Consultants Associated or PCA, cut corners in its mental health screening and failed to live up to its contract. The city paid almost $1 million to the firm to screen recruits and provide psychological counseling to police over a 4-year period that was to end next year.
