Here in the next few minutes a news release will be coming out that one of our employees at OSP has tested positive for COVID-19. I know and understand this is going to cause some concern and stress. Our employee is in stable condition. We are in communication with the family and providing support for their needs.
Members have asked questions and have asked me to get answers. Below are those questions and answers. This will be a very long post as there are many questions. If you have a question that has not been answered, please feel free to send me an email with your question/s.
AOCE understands how stressful work is during these difficult times.
AOCE has been informed DOC will soon be implementing a policy of temperature checks prior to employees entering their work location/institution. We have not seen the policy yet but wanted you to be informed as soon as we were. All we know at this time is a manager will be tasked with reading the temperature and if it reads 100.4 degrees or more you will be sent home.
Today while meeting with Mr. Kelly about OSP and MCCF, the Governor released her newest Executive order.
At this time, the only major chances DOC is making that affect staff is to close all staff gyms for working out. Staff are still able to shower and change clothes prior to, and after work. In the Governor’s order, she has closed local gyms, so DOC is following that order.
